DENTAL CLEANINGS
Dental disease in pets has been linked to kidney, heart, and liver disease, in addition to other painful complications. It’s why we include a dental exam in every standard wellness exam, and why we recommend a professional dental cleaning as part of your pet’s annual care.
Wellness exams are an important tool in keeping your pet healthy. They establish a record of your pet’s health over the years, making it easier to spot any changes or identify any risks to your pet’s long-term health. Consistent wellness exams also make it easier for your vet to make decisions and diagnoses when an urgent issue arises, since they are up to date on your pet’s needs and history.
Most pets benefit from at least one wellness exam per year. Some pets, depending on age and health conditions, may require two or more wellness exams per year to adequately monitor and manage their health.
We always appreciate a copy of your pet’s medical records if it’s their first time at Lovet and you have them handy, but we can always contact your previous vet if you don’t. Or, if they’re due for a fecal exam, bringing a stool sample can spare your pet some discomfort. You can always call your Lovet team to get personalized answers about what to bring based on your pet’s needs.
Yes! If your pet is due for vaccines, we’ll complete those during the wellness appointment.

Primary care appointment times at Lovet can vary depending on what needs to be addressed and your pet’s temperament in the exam room. We aim to keep all primary care appointments to around 30 minutes to allow appropriate time to examine your pet and listen to your concerns.
Use our convenient online scheduler and click “Routine Check Up,” then pick a time that works best for you! Or call the Lovet location of your choice.
The quickest and easiest way to get care at Lovet is to schedule an appointment. However, we reserve a few walk-in appointments per day for all types of needs.
Usually, we recommend pets are seen one at a time so that they can have your vet’s full attention. Please call your hospital to see if they can accommodate multiple pet appointments.
We’ve seen it all at Lovet! We want you and your pet to be as comfortable as possible while you’re in our hospitals, so give us a call ahead of your appointment to see what accommodations we can make for aggressive or scared pets.
